An exceptionally potent Belgian Tripel
Rochefort Triple Extra is the blond Trappist beer from the traditional Abbaye Notre-Dame de Saint-Rémy in Rochefort. At 8.1% ABV, it combines the power of a classic Belgian Tripel with a surprisingly fresh, dry, and hoppy character.
In the glass, the Triple Extra presents itself golden blond with a generous white head. The aroma is complex: fruity and spicy notes meet citrus hints and a delicate malty sweetness. Particularly exciting is the use of Amarillo hops, which gives the beer extra freshness and a slightly citrusy aroma.
On the palate, the Triple Extra is potent yet elegant. The typical Belgian yeast aroma combines with a pleasant hop bitterness and a rather dry finish. Despite its 8.1% ABV, it feels surprisingly vibrant and balanced.
A characterful Trappist beer for those who enjoy Belgian Tripels but are looking for a fresher, more hop-forward interpretation.
